Public Cloud? Private Cloud? The Answer is Yes.
From early on in the “Cloud” conversation CIOs had this figured out….. Public Cloud? No way, too insecure and way out of our control. Private Cloud? Fine. That’s what we’ve always done, but it’s expensive. So what then? CIOs understood the only reasonable choice: A little bit of both.
What’s now termed “Hybrid Cloud” is what my CIO colleagues were talking about at Round Table discussions at SIM meetings and CIO Forums two years ago: Private Cloud for mission critical applications, Public Cloud for the functions we can afford not to control. It’s the only reasonable way to go, right?
